Carsten Wilmes, Ph.D., Alignment Coordinator/Researcher

Carsten Wilmes oversees the development and operational implementation of WIDA's assessments, working closely with the Center for Applied Linguistics. Carsten holds a Ph.D. in foreign language testing and second language acquisition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests include alignment, validity theory, item response theory, and washback on test-takers.
