Shelley Fairbairn

Shelley Fairbairn received her Ph.D. in Foreign Language and ESL Education from The University of Iowa in December of 2006 and isa professor of teacher education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. In consultation with the WIDA Consortium, she has conducted workshops focusing on the WIDA English Proficiency Standards, instructional strategies, and ELL assessment in several states. Drawing from her wide-ranging experiences as an ESL teacher and a teacher educator, Shelley presents practical hands-on workshops that focus on improving both classroom practice and student achievement.
