The English Language Proficiency (ELP) Standards, 2004 Edition
The Overview Document (PDF) is an introduction to understanding and using the Standards. It includes an explanation of the rationale for the Standards, the process of developing the Standards, and the format and components of the Standards.
These are the three frameworks for the WIDA Standards, 2004 Edition:
- Classroom framework (PDF): the model performance indicators (PIs) in this framework focus on the process of learning, offering expectations for student involvement in performance-based, hands-on learning
- Large-scale framework (PDF): the model PIs in this framework are suitable for large-scale assessment and are the basis for WIDA's ACCESS for ELLs® English language proficiency test. These PIs emphasize the products of learning.
- Combined framework (PDF): integrates the elements of the classroom and large-scale frameworks.
